This often led third party developers to skip GameCube support entirely for more mature, but significantly popular, games, such as Grand Theft Auto III. The GameCube also became known for skewing toward a younger audience, with games like Pok?mon and Super Monkey Ball. These smaller discs contained a mere 1.5 GB of storage, in comparison to the full-sized DVDs used on the PS2 and Xbox, which held 8.5 GB.
The GameCube used small, proprietary discs similar to miniDVDs, which designers hoped would limited copyright infringement through CD burning, and also reduce the cost of games. It also supported connectivity to Nintendo?s newest handheld, the Game Boy Advance.Īlthough the GameCube possessed superior graphics to its main rival, the PlayStation 2, it lacked the ability to play DVDs, one of the PS2?s main selling points.
The GameCube represented a number of firsts for Nintendo, becoming its first console to use optical discs instead of cartridges for its games, and its first console to allow online gaming. It competed primarily against Sony's PlayStation 2 and Microsoft's Xbox. Another thing stupid is the opening sequence.Released in 2001, the GameCube is Nintendo?s fourth home console video game system. What's even worse is that you will fail them every time, making this really stupid. Awful Missions, like when you have to crouch for 60 seconds, and how you can't jump at all.The dumbest part is the only way to unlock a character in this game, is that you have to play a slot machine after you beat the Mission mode. Some of the characters like Naruto, Luffy, and Zoro can do Hidoken for weird reasons, which never happens in the manga or anime.Even Jump Ultimate Stars had a story mode, and it was much better on the DS, and was released few months after this game came out.
The opening and ending makes no sense, either. You get Zabuza's Blade, and you also have Goku's Power Pole, and what's worse is that it will limit your Lite attack to 1, which is very terrible. Horrible items that try too hard to be like Smash. There are only 20 playable characters 6 for One Piece and Naruto, and 8 for Dragon Ball Z, which makes absolutely no sense at all, and what's worse is that there's no One Piece villains in the roster at all.The combat is very stiff and not very hard to pull off.
